Red bulb
Tenebris Somnia: Red Bulb & Darkroom Puzzle
Find the white bulb, turn it red at the bloody table, develop the photograph and collect the Hexagonal Stone.
What to bring
| Item | Where to get it | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| White Light Bulb / Lightbulb | Lamp on the left of the Film School photo-developing room, Floor 1, red door | Becomes the red bulb |
| Cold Chisel | Last theater box, after screening the purified third film | Opens the boarded upper door |
| Photo Roll | Floor outside the movie theater, apartment building Floor 1 | Produces the Negative |
| Photo Paper | Screenwriting classroom, Film School Floor 1, blue door | Goes into the enlarger |
| Chemicals | Table beyond the red Pentacle Stone door in the Floor 3 apartment bathroom | Prepares the developing trays |
If the third film is still cursed, finish the Silver Bottle and moonlight route first. The Cold Chisel is a progression requirement, not an optional substitute for a key.

Make the red bulb
- Enter the Film School darkroom through the red door on Floor 1. Interact with its left-hand lamp to remove the white bulb.
- Return to the apartment building, Floor 1. Take the rightmost exit from the dining-room film set into its stairwell. These are different stairs from the Film School's.
- Climb to the boarded door at the top. Use the Cold Chisel on it, then strike the boards with a melee weapon.
- At the far end of the upper corridor, push the bookcase aside and enter the room behind it.
- Stand at the blood-covered table and use the white bulb. Check that the inventory now contains the Red Lightbulb.
- Trying to leave starts a cinematic and an enemy ambush. Survive the waves to reopen the exit. Do not leave the room expecting the transformation alone to finish the encounter.
Finish collectibles before advancing
The red-bulb return trip is a useful last sweep for Stella Plena. Collect all six Copper Stars and open all six star lockers before developing the photo and advancing toward Sanguis. The items checklist lists both sets of locations; the achievement route explains the other missable tasks.
Develop the photograph
Return to the Film School darkroom with the five materials above. Move close to the named workstation before choosing Use; using the right item from across the room does nothing.
| Order | Station and action | New state |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Fit the Red Lightbulb to the lamp | Red lighting |
| 2 | Use Chemicals on the trays above the lamp | Trays prepared |
| 3 | Use Photo Roll at the northern central table | Negative |
| 4 | Use Negative at the enlarger on the upper-left table | Negative loaded |
| 5 | Use Photo Paper at that same enlarger | Printed Photo |
| 6 | Use Printed Photo at the chemical trays | Cinematic, then Photo |
The developing chemical used in the opening apartment mixture is not a reason to skip the later Chemicals pickup. Check your current inventory rather than assuming the trays are ready.
Use the finished Photo
Take the Photo to Ivan's Floor 3 bedroom. Use it at the empty frame on the bedside cabinet, then interact with the opened drawer for the Hexagonal Stone. Return to the upper Film School door, finish Sanguis's dialogue and use the stone to enter. Preserve the nearby save before Vitria.
If the room will not progress
- No red light: install the transformed bulb, not the white one or the later Black Bulb.
- No Negative: use the roll at the central northern table after preparing the room.
- No print: the Negative must be loaded before the Photo Paper, at the same enlarger.
- Printed Photo remains in inventory: use the trays, not the enlarger again.
- No stone: the finished Photo belongs in the bedroom frame; inspect the cabinet once it opens.
