Bosses
Tenebris Somnia: Boss Fights & Combat Guide
Beat the candle arena, survive Fumus circles, read Vitria’s mirror and plan the Carnitos, Sanguis and final-boss encounters.
Start by identifying the encounter's rule. Several fights make the target invulnerable until you change the arena; other hazards punish the weapon you currently hold. This guide covers the named encounters in the release route, including the late ending branches. No health totals or fixed damage counts are assumed.
Before a fight
Keep a save before entering an arena. Check your healing and chosen challenge: the achievement guide separates Wrench-only, Pipe-only and no-damage conditions. Attack only when you have an opening, then release the aiming stance so Julia can move. If a creature grabs her, rapidly press the interact control; walking alone does not break the grapple.

Obscuratus: extinguish the candles
The candle-room boss is hidden while the candles remain lit. Run between the candles and interact with each flame. With the last one out, the boss becomes visible: use that damage window, then repeat when the candles return. Do not spend ammunition firing at an invisible target.
The Mop Handle and window interaction lead into this encounter. Iron and wax requires a Wrench-only victory; the normal route does not force you to use the Revolver. Keep that distinction when following a video that uses guns.
Fumus: equipment changes the red circles
The circles can turn Julia's weapon against her. A loaded firearm can make contact fatal; an empty firearm still causes a lengthy failed-shot animation. A melee weapon causes self-inflicted damage. The publisher-pinned guide recommends unequipping weapons before deliberately clearing a circle, then equipping again for a safe attack window.
Stay out of the boss's attack path while changing equipment. For Exhaust Pipe, use only the Pipe against Fumus. Reload a clean earlier save before resuming Wrench Queen; a successful Pipe fight is not compatible with that same continuous run.
Carnitos: control the group
The ambush after the red-bulb pickup and the later Desiderium waves need space rather than greedy swings. Keep the group on one side and attack before it surrounds Julia. Where glowing studio lights are present in a Sulfur statue defense, breaking a light clears the enemies currently on screen; it is a limited arena resource, not a permanent kill switch for future waves.
The Carnitos challenges are separate: Valiant Little Taylor needs three defeated in one hit, while Butcheress needs the encounter completed without being hit. Preserve a pre-ambush save instead of expecting a damaged successful clear to satisfy both.
Vitria
Vitria's mirror fight comes after the Hexagonal Stone door. In the opening phase, draw out a tentacle attack and move out of its line before counterattacking. Later, the mirror shows a tentacle whose position is difficult to read directly in Julia's world. Use the reflection to find and strike it, then damage the stunned target to crack the mirror.
Enter the opened mirror portal when it appears. Controls reverse inside; check your movement before committing to a long run. Strike the emerging tentacles to return outside and repeat the mirror cycle. If grabbed, mash interact immediately. The red sigil is a cue to solve the phase, not to keep attacking an invulnerable body.
Sanguis: use the chase trap
The beast-form escape ends at the giant blade. Draw Sanguis over the trap and time the lunge or position him directly over it to trigger the environmental kill. Shooting through the chase is not the progression solution.
For Bad Puppy, bait his attacks into every standing mannequin before finishing. Make the detour part of the chase plan; killing him at the blade first removes the opportunity.
Final encounters
Reveal Lacuna, Hermes and the secret-route encounter
Lacuna
Spare all Relicta after obtaining Aurifer to take this branch. Keep moving when Lacuna disappears: her return can grab and drop Julia for an instant death. During the screen-based phase, locate the attacking doubles using the movie screen. Avoid the trail she leaves while moving and clear the small summons before they cut off your route. Use safe ranged openings when playing without a weapon restriction.
Acrophobia deliberately requires the lethal grab-and-drop. Treat that as a separate attempt, then reload to finish the fight.
Hermes
Killing a Relicta with Aurifer changes the finale. Watch the floor marks for emerging hands, avoid their horizontal or vertical blasts and damage exposed hands. Read the movie screen for the intervening hand waves. Later, run away while the large face inhales; move in to attack during its recovery, keeping clear of the liquid hazards and new hands.
Devoured requires being swallowed, which ends that attempt. Survive the mouth rather than testing it during the clear you want to keep.
Amy and the Bible route
This encounter is reached by collecting the three Iron Crosses and using them at the marked poster on the third-floor street. The ending route gives the order-sensitive rituals. It requires a qualifying new game, not a last-minute change at the Aurifer save. Keep moving between attack opportunities and follow the encounter's own presentation; this page does not assign unverified phase counts, health or a supposed instant-kill exploit to Amy.
Returning to the route
After Fumus, continue toward the cursed film and moonlight purification. After the early Carnitos ambush, return to photo development. After Vitria, follow Sanguis and the ritual. The walkthrough places each encounter between its required items and next destination.
